Thanks for all the questions! We will answer what we can
The response after 6 episodes has been phenomenal and we have many questions from our fans.
One question we have seen that we want to address; “What Superfoods do you recommend for vegetarian living?”
A balanced diet of the following are what to stick to. Vegetable alone will not be enough.
- Vegetables
- Fruits
- Legumes
- Soy
- Whole Grains
- Healthy Fats & Oils
“Please expand your Superfoods you call ‘leafy greens'”
Rich in chlorophyll:
- Arugula
- Collard Greens
- Dandelion Leaves
- Mustard Greens
- Kale
- Rapini
- Spinach
- Romaine
- Swiss Chard
With greens, try to stick to blanching, steaming, boiling for the healthiest recipes. Or raw, of course. Spice them up with turmeric, basil, cayenne, and stay away from butter and fatty oils.
Can you give some examples of Cruciferous Vegetables

We love berries too! Which are your favorite?
All are good, but Jay goes for:
- Blackberries
- Blueberries
- Cranberries
- Strawberries
Or for a more exotic option.
- Acai berries, or
- Gogi berries, for the truly health conscious
“Other than antioxidants, what other benefits come from berries?”
It is about the phytochemicals, and the taste! A salad, a smoothie, or on your cereal. They are a versatile superfood.
Flavonoids are also present and they keep our mind sharp.
What kind of legumes or soy do you recommend?
Legumes are an excellent source of folate. Slow burning carbs packed with proteins!
- Lentils
- Kidney beans
- Pinto beans
- Black beans
- Edamame beans
- Rapini beans
- Soya beans
Just a little pepper, and extra virgin olive oil and you’re set!
What kind of greens should we try for variety and flavor?
It can be hard to appease a large family, but try focusing on whole grains, which are a great source of:
- Fiber
- Iron
- Calcium
- Copper
- Magnesium
You can find these in
- Brown rice
- Quinoa
- Oats
- Corn
- Buckwheat
- Or the ‘ancient’ pharaoh wheat…
- Flax
- Rye
